Good question. We have seen many renters who have been blindsided when they get served in a foreclosure action. You pay your rent but the seller does not paass the money along to the lender. Typically, you would be included in the foreclosure action either by your name or simply listed as an unknown tenant. If that happens, understand that you are only included because the lender believes that you may have some interest in the property.
Go to Okaloosa County website and select "Official Records" then select "Court Records". Search by the property owner name. Lis Pendens filings (foreclosure actions) will be listed along with the docket which would enable you to see what stage of of foreclosure the property is in, assuming that it is in foreclosure to begin with.
Incidentally, most lenders will offer to pay tenants (sometimes several thousand dollars) to vacate a foreclosed property within 30 days, if they leave it in "broomswept" condition.
Kind of tricky question, but one way to know if the owner of the property has beed issued a "Liz Pendens" which is the commencement of foreclosure. Is to go the local Clerk of Cournt website and search public Official records. It will be listed there.
Your home that you are renting is for sale for $99,900. It is not marked short sale or foreclosure. Also you can check at the county court records.
The home is listed for sale for $99,900. It doesn't show as a short sale or foreclosure. I don't see any lis pendent on the county court records. I hope that is helpful to you
